'Locked and stuffed in golden cage'

I've been several times in China, where I (as a European) was badly confrontated with the treatment of animals. Mostly because of another cultural behaviour in relation to animals. Swines, chickens, ducksÖÖ.put in a cage, although you'd better say that people construct a kind of packingcase around it.These constructions are sometimes so beautifull and skillfully finished, that they give a surrealistic impression.
On one hand the locked animal, on the other hand the beauty of the cage. You may say the confinement of animals is an Asiatic form of art.
It surpasses a certain reality.
Two opposites.
`the question is: Is there a balance between men and animal.
Yes in the eyes of the Chinese,
No in our eyes.
So the perception of the viewer is important for the relationship between men and animal.
Is it culture or is it more?
Can you hide severe things with visual effects?
Can you provoke a reaction at the same time of "how nice" and "how awfull"?

I think it should be possible.
